During the last Pennsylvania House Session, my opponent for State House District 12 Stephanie Scialabba, made a WRONG vote of NO on House Bill 2153. You may recall, HB2153 would prohibit the practice of paying split rates on publicly funded construction projects and ensure custom fabrication work done by building trades workers away from the job site must be paid prevailing wage. The legislation is a no-brainer designed to prevent low-ball contractors from paying sub-standard rates of pay. Representative Scialabba’s WRONG vote is evidence that she doesn’t much value the practice of public construction projects paying workers fairly and abiding by the prevailing wage standard.
As a candidate who supports organized labor all the time, not just as some of the time, I think it’s important to point out some of the differences between myself and my opponent, and as the election cycle progresses, I intend to do just that.
For more years than forward-thinking, hard-working women and men care to remember, Daryl Metcalfe held this seat before Scialabba became the Representative two years ago. Now is the time to make sure we don’t have another Metcalfe.
